Professor Ellen Druguet Pays Courtesy call on The School of Physical Sciences

The School of Physical Sciences (SPS) warmly welcomed Professor Ellen Druguet, an expert in metamorphic tectonics and structural geology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (AUB), on 14th November 2024, during her visit to the country. Her courtesy call provided a platform for meaningful academic exchange and collaboration prospects.

During the visit, Professor Druguet shared insights into her research interests, engaging an audience comprising the school and a section of the University staff members. The session fostered a stimulating academic environment, showcasing the potential for further intellectual synergies between her research area and the School of Physical Sciences.

Dr. Jude Bayor, Dean of the SPS, expressed gratitude for Professor Ellen’s presentation. In his remarks, the Dean emphasised the importance of such academic exchanges and proposed exploring future collaborations through the Erasmus Mundus Scheme. This initiative could open avenues for students and staff to access scholarship opportunities.

The session was graced by the presence of some university officials, including the Head of the Center for International Students and Scholars, Prof. Moses Abubakari, the Head of University Relations, Mr. Isaac Aboyom Anontise, Dr. Philip Mensah (HoD, Physics), Dr. Esmond Agurgo Balfour, Exams Officer, SPS and the Head of the Vice-Chancellor’s Secretariat, Mr Alexander Akumbonu (ChPA). Their participation underscored the institution’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and academic excellence.
