In a spirit of solidarity, the academic supervisors of Surv. Emmanuel Junior Adugbila from the University of Twente, The Netherlands, has donated EUR 360 to support Mr. Aaron Tiburu, a tradesman in the DPDEM of C. K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences (CKT-UTAS), who is in urgent need of surgery for a hip condition.
Surv. Emmanuel Junior Adugbila took the initiative and solicited the financial support of his supervisors, Prof. Ir. Jaap Zevenbergen, Prof. Karin Pfeffer, and Dr. Dimo Todorovski, all from the PGM Department in the Faculty of Geoinformation Sciences and Earth Observation of the University of Twente to help Mr. Aaron Tiburu.
The donation was received by Surv. Emmanuel Junior Adugbila during the FIG Conference held at La-Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra on May 22, 2024.
The donation was handed to Professor Albert Luguterah, Acting Vice-Chancellor, who in turn presented it to Mr. Tiburu in a brief ceremony attended by some university officials, including Prof. Samson Abagale, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Mr. Samuel Ayipio Ayuu, TEWU President; Dr. Bonsi Ohene Apea, Dean of Students; and Mr. Alexander Akumbonu, Head of the Vice-Chancellor’s Secretariat.
Professor Luguterah expressed his gratitude for the generous contribution, highlighting the importance of such support in addressing urgent medical needs within the University community.
