Background

Building New Generation of Academics in Africa (BANGA-4) is a project of the University of Ghana (UG) supported by a grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York (CCNY).

This project will, among other things, enable UG to provide opportunities for PhD training for staff from CKT-UTAS and three other partner universities in Africa.

The project will support six CKT-UTAS faculty to pursue their PhD studies at UG in areas that are of priority to CKT-UTAS.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants for the BANGA-4 scholarship must:

1. Be a staff of CKT-UTAS and target to take an academic position after completion.
2. Have the requisite qualifications to pursue the interested PhD program at UG.
3. Have very good research skills to be able to conduct PhD research.
4. Not be more than forty (40) years of age at the time of application.
5. Ensure that the interested PhD program is currently run at UG.

Interested and eligible staff may complete and submit the application form attached via [email protected]

Applicants must submit the following:

1. A completed application form.
2. Most recent Curriculum Vitae (3 pages max.)
3. Certified copy of first degree and Master’s degree certificates.
4. A (PhD) research proposal clearly outlining the background, objectives, scope, and methodology.
5. A workplan and budget attached on separate sheets.
6. Letter or support from the Head of the Department or Dean
