Building A New Generation of Academics in Africa (BANGA-AFRICA) Phase 4 PhD Scholarship Awards – Call for Applications
Background
Building New Generation of Academics in Africa (BANGA-4) is a project of the University of Ghana (UG) supported by a grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York (CCNY).
This project will, among other things, enable UG to provide opportunities for PhD training for staff from CKT-UTAS and three other partner universities in Africa.
The project will support six CKT-UTAS faculty to pursue their PhD studies at UG in areas that are of priority to CKT-UTAS.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants for the BANGA-4 scholarship must:
- Be a staff of CKT-UTAS and target to take an academic position after completion.
- Have the requisite qualifications to pursue the interested PhD program at UG.
- Have very good research skills to be able to conduct PhD research.
- Not be more than forty (40) years of age at the time of application.
- Ensure that the interested PhD program is currently run at UG.

Applicants must submit the following:
- A completed application form.
- Most recent Curriculum Vitae (3 pages max.)
- Certified copy of first degree and Master’s degree certificates.
- A (PhD) research proposal clearly outlining the background, objectives, scope, and methodology.
- A workplan and budget attached on separate sheets.
- Letter or support from the Head of the Department or Dean
