The C. K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences (CKT-UTAS) has organised its first Science Café on the topic “The Relevance of Science and Technology Research – the Role of CKT-UTAS”.
The objective of the café was to invite suggestions from stakeholders on how the university can use its research to influence life within its immediate environs and beyond. Patronage was very high. In attendance were academic staff, administrators, chiefs, community leaders, the media, and second and third-cycle institutions among others.
Participants shared their thoughts in writing. Others chose to hold small group discussions after which they wrote down their suggestions.
These suggestions will be collated, analysed and the recommendations and conclusions made available for collaborative implementation by stakeholders and the university.
It is the hope of the University that such informal meetings will be held at least once a semester on relevant topics to allow stakeholders to contribute to local and national development.
