CKT-UTAS SUCCESSFULLY DEFEND ENACTUS GHANA TROPHY

The Enactus CKT-UTAS Chapter has once again raised high the flag of the University by braving the storm to win the Enactus Ghana National Competition 2022 held in Accra, from 28th-30 July 2022.

CKT-UTAS made history in 2021 by being the first University from Northern Ghana to win the Competition. Team Enactus CKT-UTAS successfully defended the trophy this year, vanquishing academic giants such as the University of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and University of Mines & Technology in the grand finale.

The Team presented two innovative entrepreneurial/business solutions, to wit, Vara Wudiu (animal feed) and Waste – Tek to win the competition. Vara Wudiu seeks to creatively convert dry untapped grasses which are left to the mercy of bushfires during the dry season into the production of affordable animal feed for farmers. The feed has a balanced nutritive content that adds rice chaff, maize husks, groundnut peels, and Z three hexanols to support quality animal rearing in Northern Ghana and beyond.

Waste-Tek on the other hand is an innovation that converts spoilt fridges and scrap metals into the manufacturing of affordable poultry incubators to support ambitious poultry farmers in Ghana.

The Team comprised Dr Peter Agbedemnab, Academic Advisor, Awanah Michael Atamakira, Student Team Leader, Anovunga Susana, Adulum Hatsha and Zakariah Najlau.
