At the 27th Cross-Country competition held at KNUST on the 4th to 7th of July 2024, C. K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Navrongo, was part of this history. This occasion was important as an experience of participation and gaining more insights as a young University.

The exposure at the 27th Cross-country competition had set high expectations for the students. Unfortunately, their inability to train adequately as they consistently complained of lack of training materials, low incentives, and sports credit support as factors having a heavy toll on the psyche and Interest in representing the University and being more competitive.

In a goodwill message to the athletes by Mr. Gilbert Angsoglenang, the Ag. Registrar doubling as the Secretary of the Sports Advisory Committee (SAC), led the contingent at KNUST, on behalf of Prof. Samson A. Abagale, the Chairman of the Sports Advisory Committee and Pro Vice-Chancellor, urged the athletes to give off their best in honour of themselves and CKT-UTAS. Mr. Angsoglenang made a personal donation of GHC 400.00 cash to the team to boost their morale while promising winning bonuses from CKT-UTAS.

Although the team suffered setbacks in performance, the athletes acknowledged that “as we can see is a lack of training, so let’s train hard for next time”. Saeed further added that “they tried their best, nothing to say but better luck next time”.
The Ag. Head of Sports, Jude Domokyile Nayasama assured them of his technical expertise to return to a resounding position at GUSA competitions and urged that the team focuses on the upcoming West Africa University Games (WAUG) in September 2024 and the main 2024 GUSA games coming up from 3rd to 18th January 2025 to be hosted by the University of Cape Coast.
