SCHOOL OF NURSING AND MIDWIFERY CHAMPIONS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS ON CKT-UTAS CAMPUS

The month of October, also known as pink month, has been set aside for awareness creation on breast cancer worldwide.

To commemorate this important occasion, the School of Nursing and Midwifery of the C.K Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences (CKT-UTAS) embarked on a week-long sensitization programme (24th -29th  October, 2021) aimed at creating awareness on breast cancer among women, as well as their male counterparts.

The Campaign led by Dr. Margret Kukeba and Ms Rosina Darcha Head of Department, Nursing and Head of Department, Midwifery respectively, in collaboration with the University Relations Section of CKT-UTAS included social media engagements, a discussion on Nabina Radio, a breast screening exercise at the university hospital, and a seminar for the university community.

Participants were schooled on preventive measures (such as self-breast examination, spousal support techniques), early detection and treatment.
