The CKT-UTAS chapters of the Senior Staff Association of Ghana (SSoA) and the Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) came together on June 5, 2024, to support Mr. Aaron Tiburu, a member in need of surgery. It was a brief event that highlighted the solidarity and compassion within the University community.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Albert Luguterah, accompanied by other management staff, received the donations on behalf of Mr. Tiburu from the Associations. The President of SSoA, Mr. Fatai Osman presented GHS 2,050, while TEWU led by Mr. Samuel Ayipio Ayuu (President), presented an additional GHS 750, totalling GHS 2,800.
Professor Luguterah expressed his gratitude for the generous contributions and emphasised the importance of unity and support among staff members during challenging times. The donations will go a long way in ensuring Mr. Tburu receives the necessary medical care.
This act of kindness reflects the deep sense of community at CKT-UTAS and its staff associations’ commitment to their colleagues’ well-being.
