VACANCY FOR VICE-CHANCELLOR
C. K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Navrongo, seeks to appoint a Vice-Chancellor to assume office on April 1, 2024.
The Institution
The C. K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences (CKT-UTAS), Navrongo, was established in 2020 by an Act of Parliament, ACT 1000, to provide higher education, disseminate knowledge related to development in integrated technology and applied sciences, undertake research and foster relationships with persons outside the University.
The Position
The Vice-Chancellor is the academic and administrative head and chief disciplinary officer of the University. He/she shall have overall authority over the academic, administrative and professional staff of the University.
The Vice-Chancellor shall be responsible, in accordance with the Statutes and with the decisions of the Governing Council and the Academic Board, for organising and conducting the academic, financial, and administrative business of the University.
It shall be the right and duty of the Vice-Chancellor to advise Council and the Academic Board on all matters affecting policy, finance, governance and administration of the University.The Vice-Chancellor, by virtue of his/her office, shall be the Chairperson of every Board or Committee of which he/she is a member unless otherwise provided in the Statutes.
Qualifications and Experience
i. Must hold a Ph.D and be a Professor, with significant research leadership;
ii. Must be a distinguished scholar of international repute, who can motivate employees in the drive to achieve academic excellence;
iii. Must have significant experience in high level management in a university or corporate environment.
In addition to the above, applicant must:
a. be of unblemished character and have high integrity;
b. have a mature and sober judgement;
c. display creativity in vision;
d. have good business sense and the ability to manage large resources to achieve set goals;
e. possess excellent inter-personal and communication skills, and must be a team player;
f. have good fund-raising capabilities; and
g. be able to complete at least one full term of four years by retirement age of 60 years.

As applicable in Public Universities in Ghana, and as determined by Council.
