Professor Albert Luguterah addresses first Staff Durbar

A staff durbar, the first for the 2024/2025 Academic year and the first since his assumption of office, has been addressed by Professor Albert Luguterah, Vice-Chancellor of CKT-UTAS. This event took place on Thursday 23rd January, 2025 at the CKT-UTAS Main Auditorium.

In his opening remarks, Professor Luguterah commended the university community whose “efforts have not only sustained our institution but have also set the stage for continued growth and excellence.”

The Vice-Chancellor was optimistic that the new academic year presented fresh opportunities to innovate, collaborate and excel. Accordingly, he entreated staff to harness their collective passion and determination to push the University forward, noting that ‘together, our unique talents and efforts create a powerful force that propels us towards our shared vision.”

The thrusts of the VC’s address included a clarion call on the University community to eschew negative and disruptive tendencies; the need for personnel reshuffle and audit to ensure transparency and efficiency; effective stakeholder engagement to drive growth and development; an unflinching commitment to innovation, and a focus on strong revenue mobilisation for enhanced financial sustainability of the University.

Participants, during an open forum, seized the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarifications on matters of interest.

Present at the event were the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samson Abagale, the Registrar, Mr. Gilbert Ansoglenang, the Director of Finance, Mr. Anab Anaamoatulib, Deans, and Directors. Others include senior members (teaching and non-teaching), senior and junior staff, as well as casual employees.
