VACANCY FOR REGISTRAR
C. K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Navrongo, seeks to appoint a Registrar to assume office on April 1, 2024.
C. K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences (CKT-UTAS) was established in 2020 by an Act of Parliament (Act 1000) to provide higher education, disseminate knowledge related to development in integrated technology and applied sciences, undertake research and foster relationships with persons outside the University.
The Registrar shall be the Chief Administrative Officer of the University, under the Vice-Chancellor. He/she shall also be the Secretary to the Office of the Chancellor, Council and Academic Board.
The Registrar shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the affairs of the University.The Registrar shall be responsible for the custody of the University Seal and for affixing same to relevant documents of Council and the Academic Board.
He/she shall also be responsible for the custody of all legal documents and records of the University.In addition to the duties prescribed in the Act, the Registrar shall serve as Secretary to all Standing and Statutory Committees and Boards of the University.
The Registrar may perform any other functions provided for in the Statutes or assigned to him/her by Council or the Vice-Chancellor.
Qualifications and Experience
The applicant must have the following:
A. minimum of a Master’s degree with not less than 15 years post-qualification experience in a public university and at the rank of Deputy Registrar or Registrar.
B. Senior management experience in a large, complex and decentralised organisation, preferably in an academic institution with a minimum of 15 years’ experience.
In addition to the above, applicant must have:
i. A deep appreciation of the academic working environment;
ii. Strong intellect with excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
iii. An understanding of the history and evolution of universities, local higher education policy and practice;
iv. Considerable experience in dealing with a variety of internal and external publics.
v. Must be able to complete a full term of four years by retirement age of 60 years.
Other desirable personal qualities include:
a. Have a mature and sober judgement;
b. Be principled with strong and proven sense of public morality and integrity;
c. Have unblemished character and high integrity; and
d. Possess excellent inter-personal and communication skills.

As applicable in Public Universities in Ghana, and as determined by Council.
